Standing in the Reformed Tradition, our worship services are the central experience of our life in Christ. Worship joyfully shows the praise, honor, glory, and power that is the Triune God. The people of God recognize the presence of God in their lives and the world through their acts of worship, and in doing so respond to God’s claim upon their lives as creator and through the redemptive action of Jesus Christ. It is also an opportunity to offer ourselves fully unto the Lord, and at the same to be equipped for ministry to the world around us.
We recognize that in Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior, God entered into our world and fully the human condition as self-revelation, for the forgiveness of sin, and the redemption and reconciliation of our relationship with God, both communal and individual. Therefore, the heart of worship is praise and thanksgiving, offering up to the Triune God our great thanksgiving for all that has been created, all that has been given, and all that will come to be.
The central point of worship is the reading and proclaiming of Holy Scripture which is the unique and authoritative witness to God in our world, and the way that we come to know Christ, and the mission set before the Church. The Reformed Tradition builds its worship around the proclamation of Scripture, most as the sermon, wherein Christ is glorified, taught, and enacted. Our order of service follows these basic steps: gathering in of the people, reading of Scripture, proclamation, response to the Word, and the sending of the people.
We make every effort to have worship be accessible to all people through style, language, and teaching. While our liturgical format is more traditional, we utilize the musical gifts of our music ministry to incorporate contemporary praise and worship songs alongside traditional hymns. Our language for God attempts to make the Triune God known to all in a positive and welcoming way. In our proclaiming through anthems, sermons, and other arts, we work to make God known in a way that is accessible to all ages and to all levels of spiritual maturity.
We gladly welcome you to join us for all of our worship services.
